The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) recently announced the names of the Finalists in the prestigious 2026 National Merit® Scholarship Program. Huge congratulations to Glen Rock High School seniors, John Merchant ’26 and Joseph Yoo ’26!
A National Merit Finalist is a high-achieving high school student recognized through the National Merit Scholarship Program, a national academic competition based primarily on top scores on the PSAT. Students first qualify as semifinalists (typically among the top 1% in their state) and then meet additional academic, application, and testing requirements to advance to Finalist standing. This is achieved by only a select group of students nationwide.
This accomplishment reflects the dedication, hard work, and academic excellence, placing two of our students among the top students in the country for this program!John and Joseph were recognized for this honor at the April 6, 2026 Glen Rock Board of Education meeting, where Dr. Lauren Daniell, Director of Student Personnel Services, presented their distinction.
