Organization  By Laws Invitation Requirements 
Mu Alpha Theta
(Math Honor Society)
Mu Alpha Theta Bylaws
  1. A minimum of one advanced mathematics course at Glen Rock High School
  2. Must be currently enrolled in an advanced, honors, or AP mathematics course
  3. Have a 3.50 Math GPA
  4. Membership in extracurricular activities such as American Mathematics Competition, Math Club, Robotics, or National Honor Society Tutoring
  5. Have a record of exemplary character, honesty, behavior and uphold academic integrity as defined in the student compendium.
National Business Honor Society NBHS Bylaws
  1. Must be a high school junior or senior
  2. Must have completed or be currently enrolled in their third business course
  3. Must have a minimum standard GPA, on a 4.0 scale, as follows:
    • Business courses average - 3.5
    • Overall average -3.0
  4. Selection for membership is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
  5. Members are expected to continue to demonstrate these qualities throughout their membership in the society.
National English Honor Society NEHS Bylaws
  1. Must be a Junior or Senior
  2. Have achieved a minimum overall unweighted grade point average of a 3.3
  3. Have achieved a minimum English unweighted grade point average of a 3.85
  4. Demonstrate an enthusiasm for language arts. (Via the essay in the application process.)
  5. Have a record of exemplary character, honesty, behavior and uphold academic integrity as defined in the student compendium.
National Honor Society NHS Bylaws
  1. Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be members of the
    junior or senior class.
  2. The candidate must have been enrolled for a period equivalent to one semester at Glen Rock High School.
  3. Candidates eligible for election to the chapter shall have a minimum weighted cumulative grade point average of 3.8
  4. Candidates shall then be considered based on their service, leadership, and character.
  5. 25 hours of community service from their preceding school year and/or summer preceding their current school year.
National Junior Honor Society
NJHS Bylaws
  1. Grade 7 students are eligible for membership
  2. Earned 6 consecutive marking periods on the High Honor Roll.
  3. Upon meeting the grade level, enrollment, and standards, candidates shall then be considered based on their service, leadership, character, and citizenship.
Rho Kappa
(Social Studies Honor Society)
Rho Kappa Bylaws
  • A minimum of two full year Social Studies courses at Glen Rock High School
  • Membership in RHO KAPPA is an honor bestowed upon a student for their accomplishments in the field of social studies and overall academic achievement.
  • Earned a 3.85 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in all Social Studies courses
  • Have an overall unweighted cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0
    scale).
  • Have been in attendance at Glen Rock High School for the equivalent of one semester prior to being considered (If a special or unique circumstances merit, the high school administration may waive the
    semester requirement, providing a letter of explanation to the National Advisory Council).
  • Show participation in activities that demonstrate civic engagement in school or community and their desire and aspiration to be a member of the organization (as demonstrated via the written response).
Science National Honor Society Science National Honor Society Bylaws
  1. Must be a junior or senior
  2. Have and maintain a 3.0 grade point average across all classes and a 3.5 GPA across all sciences
  3. Must be enrolled in at least one honors level science class during or prior to the eleventh-grade year.; must be enrolled in at least one second year honors science class during or prior to the twelfth-grade year; must be enrolled in at least one upper level science class during the twelfth-grade year. If second year honors or upper level science courses are not offered by the school, then the student must be enrolled in a second first year honors or upper level science class.
  4. Must maintain a B cumulative average (3.50/4.00) across each science course
  5. Have a record of exemplary character, honesty, behavior and uphold academic integrity as defined in the student compendium.
Tri-M Music Honor Society
(Music Honor Society)
Tri-M Bylaws
  1. Must have completed two years of a music class/ensemble with an A average and be enrolled in a music course for a third full year
  2. Must exhibit leadership, service, and character in their activities while at Glen Rock High School; and
    They must have maintained at least a B average grade or equivalent in other academic subjects.
  3. Must either prepare a performance (Cabaret Night or Coffeehouse performances are acceptable) or they must attend a concert and critique the performances.
  4. Have a record of exemplary character, honesty, behavior and uphold academic integrity as defined in the student compendium.
World Languages Honor Societies WLHS Bylaws  
  1. Must be actively enrolled in a World Language class.
  2. Completed Honors Level 3 with an A- or higher and be currently enrolled in Honors Level 4 or AP.
  3. Have earned an A- or higher in semester one of their junior or senior year in their world language course.
  4. Have earned a A in each preceding year of language study and be recommended by their current and previous language teachers.
  5. Transfer students must have spent one full year in the GRHS World Languages program
    before eligibility.
  6. Have a record of exemplary character, honesty, behavior and uphold academic integrity as defined in the student compendium.
